Feraheme® (ferumoxytol) Injection for intravenous (IV) use is indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in adult patients with chronic kidney disease.

Feraheme is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Feraheme or any of its components.

Absolute and Functional Iron Deficiency

Iron deficiency may be categorized either as absolute or functional.7,8

Absolute
  • Low serum ferritin (eg, <100 ng/mL)7–9
  • Low TSAT (eg, <20%)
    TSAT=transferrin saturation.
Functional
  • Serum ferritin may be elevated
    or normal (eg, >100 ng/mL)7,8
  • Low TSAT (eg, <20%)
